ABOUT US
The Asian Society for Gynecologic Robotic Surgery or the ASGRS is a formal gathering of surgeons and other healthcare professionals who share a common interest in caring for women through the use of robotic surgery and who share a common vision of raising the standard of women’s surgical healthcare across Asia through research, innovation and leadership in robotic surgery. The ASGRS is the first truly Asian society of gynecologic robotic surgery with representatives from all across Asia, countries like Taiwan, Korea, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. The makeup of the leadership of the ASGRS reflects not only the membership’s diverse cultural backgrounds but also the diversity of practice environments and points along the adoption curve of robotics in gynecological surgery. At the ASGRS, we believe that this diversity is what makes our society unique, what makes our society strong. The vision to build on technology to improve the health of the women in each of our respective care spheres is what unites us and the passion to make this technology accessible to all is what defines us. The Society was formed to bring the combined experience of more mature Asian robotic surgical healthcare programs into a forum where this experience could be shared and generalized throughout all Asia and therefore made accessible to the all the women in Asia who require gynecological surgical care.

November - The ASGRS again joins the ACRS in its 2nd meeting in Gyeongju, Korea, hosting the Gyn Scientific program
June - Society is registered in Singapore and the ASGRS becomes a legal entity
May - The ASGRS Visiting Expert Program hosts its first expert, Professor Warner Huh, from University of Alabama at Birmingham
April - The ASGRS becomes an Official Affiliate Society of the AAGL
2015
December - The ASGRS joins the Asian Congress of Robotic Surgery (ACRS) in its inaugural meeting in Hong Kong, SAR.
August - Society is formed and its Board constituted
