As I write this message, the Christmas holidays had just passed and we are all now looking forward with great anticipation to 2018. Let us all work together and take ASGRS to greater heights. It is never easy to fit into a role set by an energetic and a trailblazing predecessor. Dr Joseph Ng had set a high standard of management style that had successfully glued us within the Board thus allowing us to plan efficiently as a group.
It is my intention to sustain ASGRS’s growth and pace and to continue the strong affiliations with the larger and more established Associations. There has been a suggestion of starting our own Journal. To this end, I will work closely with our Korean counterpart.
Membership is the main pillar supporting the relevance and continued existence of ASGRS. There is an acute need to increase the memberships past the numbers we have now in the Board. I implore the Board to actively encourage gynaecologists in their respective medical centres and region to apply for the Ordinary membership of ASGRS.
As this message goes on print, I would have completed proctoring a group of Gynaecologists in Hanoi. I hope to rope them in into ASGRS.
And finally, a Happy New Year to all of you. May 2018 brings much joy to you and yours.
