PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE (2021 - 2023)

DR CHI-HEUM CHO
President
Asian Society for Gynecologic Robotic Surgery

Dear ASGRS members

How are you doing in the midst of the global chaos of COVID-19 that started in 2020?

I'm Chi-Heum Cho from South Korea, and I will serve as a president of ASGRS from September, 2021. Although it may be a psychological burden for me with insufficient abilities to take on the
heavy responsibility, I will do my best not to damage the tradition and solidarity of the academic society that the predecessors and members have built together.

Since its foundation in 2015, ASGRS is now at the center of leading the Asian gynecology and robotic surgery. Based on the spirit of challenge, we are having a future-oriented communication with consideration and solidarity.

Now, I will try to set the direction that the ASGRS will pursue for the next two years as follows.

  1. Expand ASGRS which leads and guides Asian robotic surgery and recruit new members.
  2. Communicate with European and American societies to serve as world leaders in robotic surgery.
  3. Contribute to academic development through the GRS Journal.
  4. Promote growth of gynecologic robotic surgery throughout Asia.
  5. Cultivate young robotic surgeons and complete a training program.

I think that the times we are experiencing today and the humanity of the future to come will bring quite a lot of impacts and trials to the ASGRS. In order for ASGRS to continue its development in the midst of this hardship and recruit new and more enterprising members, your love, interest and participation in the society are the most important driving force.

I sincerely ask you to participate in the upcoming academic conference and regular newsletter with special interest. I look forward and hope to see you more often.
